Specialist cold welders for strip and
profile from PWM
British company PWM (Pressure Welding Machines) Ltd offers wire and cable manufacturers a comprehensive range of cold welding equipment, including specialist machines for nonferrous strip and trapezoidal wire.
The company’s new TR45, launched at wire 2024, can weld trapezoidal material up to 45mm². It is powered by compressed air and equipped with twin hydraulic boosters, and does not require electrical power. The machine has a compact footprint of 750 x 610mm and is mounted on a trolley so it can be wheeled to the work area, saving effort and reducing downtime. Once in position, the operator simply loads the material and uses the foot pedal to activate the machine. The precision-engineered die, designed and made by PWM’s in-house team, produces a strong, reliable weld without loss of electrical integrity.
PWM also offers a mobile air/hydraulic cold welder specifically designed for welding copper/aluminium strip. The ST40 strip welder can weld nonferrous material up to a maximum width of 45mm and a minimum thickness of 0.2mm, depending on material properties. The welding head can be positioned vertically or horizontally on the trolley to suit a variety of applications and production set-ups. No set up is required and the machine is energy-efficient, straightforward and safe to operate.
The TR45 and ST40 are designed and made in-house by PWM’s team of skilled engineers and technicians and tested throughout manufacture to ensure total accuracy.
