Kablomar Kablo Raw Materials Industry and Trade Ltd. Sti. We talked to General Manager Turgay Ceylan about their company and their goals.

Could you introduce your company and your products?
Our company, who produces raw materials/materials for the cable industry, was established in 2006. In the beginning, our activities which were limited with representation and distributorship of foreign manufacturers for Turkey/East Europe market, were carried to the production level with the commissioning of our first slitting machines in 2008.
Our main production subject is to coat Aluminum, Steel and Copper tapes with different plastic and/or chemical materials and cut them with width/length/different winding combinations and present them to the use of the cable industry. Our product groups under headings are as below:
- Copolymer coated aluminum tape
- PVC lacquer coated aluminum tape
- Uncoated aluminum tape for armoring
- AluPET – AluPETAlu – AluPETCopolymer combinations
- Copolymer coated steel tape
- Copolymer coated copper tape

Would you evaluate 2022 in terms of your company? Have you been able to reach your domestic and international sales goals? Did you have any new markets in 2022 that you contacted?
2022 was a year in which our sectoral growth continued to increase, and we continued to increase our production capacity with our new factory. Thanks to our quality product priority approach domestic and international, we have achieved all goals. In 2022, our exports of both copolymer coated steel tape and copolymer coated aluminum tape to the American market continued increasingly.

You will attend the Interwire Atlanta Fair; how are your export targets to the USA and South America continent going? What is the importance of this continent for your company and sector?
The main market of our company, which exports 65% of its total production, is European countries with 82%, and we are one of the 3 largest companies in Europe in the production of Copolymer Coated Aluminum Tape. We increased our activities in North and South America, which we entered in 2019 but were interrupted by the pandemic process, again with the year 2022. It is not the case that Cablemar is not present in this market as one of world’s leading manufacturers.

What are your goals for 2023?
We already serve around 200 of our customers based in 43 countries on 5 continents. Our quality-priority approach, we aim to maintain our growth rate and achieve 100% customer satisfaction in both domestic and international shipments by the end of 2023.

Do you do business in the heavy industry in the metal sector, do you follow the developments related to quality and sustainability?
 As a manufacturing company, we are a company that is aware of its responsibilities to the world and we are a member of Ecovadis, we are one of the world’s few EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) Certificate manufacturers in Copolymer Coated Aluminum Tape product and we continue to work on our other products. We continue to leading the sector in both sustainability and recycling, and a significant budget is allocated to this area every year.  11% of the plastic we use and 7% of the aluminum are recycled in-house and re-incorporated into our production process.

Our company, which intensifies its activities especially in aluminum-based products, has invested in Aluminum Cold Rolling Plant at the beginning of 2022 in order to be more competitive and to produce more flexible solutions in supply processes.
Our another locomitive products is Copolymer Caoted Steel Tape which is used in F/O Cable as armouring material. We have a good standing in Turkey and Europe because of as we are already the sole manufacturer of this product in our region. We target to increase our capacity and market share by new investments.
